The world’s first art-themed traveling amusement park, and “one of art history’s best-kept secrets”, Luna Luna is coming to New York this November. Set to transform The Shed into its own carnival canvas, this iteration titled Forgotten Fantasy will feature rides painted and installations by artists such as Salvador Dali, Sonia Delaunay, Monika Gil’Sing, Arik Brauer, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Roy Lichtenstien, Kenny Scharf, Andre Heller, Keith Haring, and David Hockney.

Founded by Austrian artist and curator André Heller, Luna Luna first opened in 1987 in Hamburg, Germany. After its closure, the amusement park was stored in Texas, where it remained for over three decades but in 2022, Luna Luna announced its return with the help of a $100 million fund from producing company DreamCrew. With its next stop in New York City, Luna Luna: Forgotten Fantasy, offers visitors an interactive experience where classic carnival rides meet modern art installations.

Tickets will go up later this month and set to open its doors to the public on November 20, 2024.
